Meet the sisters, buddy. {Video Included}

In: Celebrating Our Little One, Uncategorized

Wow. Has it really been five weeks? I can’t even believe how fast time has gone – and how many snuggles this boy has given – in these short 35 days.

35 *days*.

I wanted only 5 minutes with Kyle. 35 days is just downright overwhelming, to be honest. We feel like we are living in a dream – and it doesn’t seem like we are gonna wake up!

Except we do. At midnight, and 2 AM, and 4 AM and 6…..

See look, I’m drifting off again already.

So the sisters. This post is dedicated to them.

They’ve been through so much in their little lives. In some ways, they’ve had to grow up faster than anyone would ever want their child to. But they have come through it like little champs and I couldn’t be more proud of them.

The day they met their brother…

{There’s a video – just for you – of the meeting at the very end of the post}

It was a scary day for them. One of them especially, seemed to be particularly uneasy. She was withdrawn, although excited, and when they got out of the van to come inside, she asked my doula, “Are you sure he’s really ok?”

When they left the hospital after meeting us, they were distraught to the point of tears as to why Chaniel and I weren’t going home with them. It took a lot of convincing them that we were both indeed fine, and that we’d be home the next day soon after they had lunch.

But can I say? They have been perfect gems. Both of them are so helpful. They know what a gift they have. He never cries more than a few seconds without one of us coming to his rescue. He’s never lonely. And if they have anything to do with it, he’ll be walking at 3 months, talking at 4 months, and playing football for the Eagles at 10. 🙂

But to keep things light – I have to tell you the first thing Kami said when she saw her brother. She pulled back the blanket to look at his toes.

“Mom? These toes are too small to paint.” *sigh*

I guess it can’t all be perfect. 🙂
